We are proud to introduce Delegate-Elect Steve Heretick! In January, Heretick will be sworn in to represent Virginia’s 79th district, covering parts of Norfolk and Portsmouth. Heretick is a champion of pro-choice values who understands the importance of ensuring all women have access to quality reproductive healthcare.
Hertick’s long record of public service demonstrates a deep devotion to improving the lives of Virginians. Heretick served in the Criminal Division of the Department of Justice, where he received numerous honors for his distinguished service, including a Medal of Meritus Service and the Department of Justice Award for Public Service. He then served seven years on the Portsmouth City Council.
As the former President of the Virginia Board of Medicine — the only non-physician to ever hold that post — Hertetick boasts a rare understanding of the intimate medical decisions women and families face. His passion for justice and his leadership in the medical field make him an experienced leader who women can trust.
NARAL Pro-Choice VA was proud to endorse Heretick and to encourage our members to support his candidacy. We are delighted to welcome Steve Heretick to the House of Delegates!
