Today, hundreds of your fellow pro-choice supporters are in Richmond urging our legislature to protect and expand reproductive health and rights.
Though you might not have been able to join us for Pro-Choice Lobby Day this year, there is still something you can do to voice your pro-choice values in Richmond:
Here are two of the issues we’ll be discussing with legislators today:
Oppose Choose Life License Plates (SB801): this bill would create Choose Life license plates, revenue from which will be allocated to crisis pregnancy centers.
Oppose Attacks on Family Planning Funding (Budget Items 4-5.04#3, 4-5.04#2, 4-5.05#1s, 4-5.05#2): these amendments to the state budget would prohibit funds used to provide family planning and preventative healthcare to low-income women from being allocated to organizations that provide abortions or counseling about abortion.
Even if you can’t be in Richmond today, adding your voice through email is critical to our efforts to defeat attempts by anti-choice organizations like the Family Foundation – who, coincidentally, are encouraging their own activists to email legislators on Pro-Choice Lobby Day – from injecting the government into our most private and personal decisions.
